With the annual design fair calendar about to kick off with IMM Cologne (15-21 January), shortly followed by Maison et Objet, Paris (19-23 January), we’ve selected five favourite companies with interesting launches to look out for:

E15

At IMM Cologne, E15 introduces its ASHIDA solid wood table and HENNING stackable chair by Philipp Mainzer (above). Inspired by Japanese carpentry, the ASHIDA table emphasizes e15’s philosophy of pure materials and balanced proportions. HENNING has a minimal linear silhouette, which unifies a solid wood seat and backrest with a brushed stainless steel frame, resulting in a simple and stylish stackable seat. The company are also celebrating Ferdinand Kramer’s 120th birthday in 2018 with a special edition Calvert Table, with a silkscreen chessboard printed on natural oak or neon red lacquer finish.

Valerie Objects

Also at IMM Cologne is Valerie Objects, where the Belgian brand will be presenting its serene series of collaborations with design duo Muller Van Severen. The refined First Rocking Chair, sleek Shelf No. 1 and linear Hanging Lamps will be amongst its sculptural exhibits.

Petite Friture

Being showcased at both IMM Cologne and Maison et Objet this January is the THIN nesting coffee tables by Max Enrich for Petite Friture. Made up of three geometric shapes: a square, a rectangle and triangle, this slender trio of steel tables with their sturdy tubular legs sit at different heights on to form a stylishly abstract structure.

CTO Lighting

At Maison et Object, CTO Lighting will light up Hall 7 with its new Ivy Pendant by founder and design director, Chris Turner,  and its LUCID series by Belgian design star, Michaël Verheyden (Stand F84). These new releases feature alongside classic pieces, each expertly crafted by artisans in the finest materials.

Moheim

Japanese design is having a moment and we’re rather taken with Moheim and its ‘quiet’ minimalist designs. Not ones to shy away from colour, its beautiful Swing Bin is now available in this gorgeous green and its Tin Canister storage comes in a melange of soft and strong hues. There’s a delicate Tray Table, sophisticated Stoneware and sleek Horn Wall Clock too and we hope to see much more from this talented design studio.
