Serena Morton is, surprisingly, the first UK gallerist to show the work of Billy Name.
The exhibition, based on his monumental book The Silver Age, is Billy Name’s fly on the wall photo-essay of life up close and personal with Andy Warhol. Warhol was fascinating in his own right but Billy, Warhols live-in lover, was there to capture day-to-day happenings at the Factory with Andy, including visits from Lou Reed and the Velvet Underground, Nico, Edie Sedgwick and Ivy Nicholson; filming Screen Tests and features like Chelsea Girls, Vinyl and My Hustler. A veritable compendium of pre-disco Warhol.
EXHIBITION: 30 September – 23 October 2015
