As the year draws to a close, here are just some of the exciting launches, events and projects we have worked on during 2015…
Werner Sobek architects launched the B10 Aktivhaus in Stuttgart, Germany. Thanks to a sophisticated energy concept and an intelligent building automation system, the Aktivhaus increases sustainability by generating 200% more energy than required. An alternative low-cost modular platform for urban housing.
Viaduct presented White on White on White during the London Design Festival, part of Clerkenwell Design Quarter. Two exhibitions: one introducing new Nordic brands, alongside Spanish artisan pottery studio Apparatu. Pictured: an entirely white dining experience designed exclusively for Viaduct by chef Pepi de Boissieu, with tableware and seating made by Apparatu.
northmodern, Denmark’s newest design fair, opened its doors in August, and the next edition is from 13-15 January 2016. A new destination for professionals seeking out original design.
Tania Johnson Design – new wool and silk rug collection, Journeys in Colour, launched at Decorex, alongside a talk on sustainable luxury. Tania Johnson’s rugs are based on her own photography before being hand-knotted by artisans in Nepal. Tania works closely with Goodweave to ensure all her rugs meet the highest level of certification.
ISH is the world’s largest bathroom fair where leading Japanese bathroom manufacturer TOTO showed its hi-tech offering to maximum effect.
The Interior Design School participated in QPDD, part of the London Design Festival, with an exhibition entitled Live Work Play.
Melody Rose launched its latest collection of fine bone china tableware at the Home and Tent shows in London during September. Made in Stoke-on-Trent, Melody Rose tableware combines pottery tradition with vintage verve.
Paul Kelley has developed the BOB copper cube system of multi-functional furniture, exhibiting the collection throughout Europe this year.
Fien Muller and Hannes Van Severen launched their new collection at Viaduct. Muller Van Severen mixed surface patina and rust adding a new dimension to their hybrid furniture collection.
