Pengelly Design will launch an own range collection at designjunction 2013 (Stand S9). Comprising furniture and accessories, the collection focuses on materials and processes and explores new ways of working with traditional craft to create contemporary design.
In addition to its own range, Pengelly Design will show collaborations with Montis, Chorus, Modus and Foscarini.
Scapa chair – Woven in the Orkney Isles using the centuries-old technique of weaving oat straw into chair backs, Pengelly Design has created Scapa, combining the process with a contemporary timber frame. The Scapa chair will be available in oak, ash and painted frames, with rocking or sled bases.
Harp chair – Echoing traditional Windsor chair manufacture, Harp combines traditionally steam-bent solid wood with a contemporary moulded foam seat pad to create a familiar and intuitive form with a fresh aesthetic. Visually lightweight for an easy chair, yet comfortable and inviting, Harp is available in a variety of stain and upholstery options with rocking or swivel bases.
Pep grinder – Designed to overcome the annoying rings of salt and pepper left on tables, the Pep grinder combines the tactility of cork with a soft touch plastic body in an ergonomic form that you would be happy to leave on any table.
