We are excited to announce that we are now representing Tania Johnson Design.
Tania creates custom made, contemporary hand knotted rugs in lustrous combinations of wool, silk and pashmina. With a CV that reads like a who’s who of US interiors, Tania Johnson has designed textiles for interior collections from Calvin Klein Home to Vera Wang Home, Donna Karan Home, Macy’s, Larsen, Martha Stewart Living and Chilewich. Having graduated from the RCA with an MA in woven textiles, Tania Johnson spent over ten years building her design credentials Stateside. At Calvin Klein Home, Tania was responsible for designing their very first rug collection in 2002.
Now back in her native country, Tania has set up business in London with the sole aim of creating a new home and a new audience for her designs. With a reputation for crafting rug collections based on a variety of themes including light, reflections and nature, Tania uses her own photographic images, collected from her travels, to inspire these rug designs.
Her complex designs are translated into intricately hand woven rugs by artisans in Nepal. Tania has a long standing relationship with local rug producers and works closely with GoodWeave, a certification programme with a rigorous and binding set of rules that ensures no child labour is used in the production of rugs.
