As part of Clerkenwell Design Quarter during the London Design Festival 2015, Viaduct presents White on White, an exhibition of Scandinavian design from a new generation: Studio Vit and MA/U Studio. These two companies demonstrate the powerful typologies and clear lines that have made this Northern European region so influential in the world of design and manufacturing over the last 100 years or so. An installation of furniture and lighting demonstrates the striking aesthetics and subtle use of materials from both companies. Also on show will be new furniture from Danish brand Friends & Founders, plus Moby – a series of prototype plaster lights by Jonas Trampedach and Birgitte Due Madsen.
Alongside White on White, Spanish father and son pottery duo Apparatu are bringing their potters wheel all the way from Barcelona and will throw pots, plates, tureens and other tableware each day at Viaduct. Going along with the Spanish theme, chef Pepi de Boissieu (also from Barcelona) will create daily doses of food, all laid out on a long table in the centre of the showroom. Pepi specialises in using food as a communication tool, creating made-to-measure culinary experiences.
