Vitra and Artek at Clerkenwell Design Quarter

Celebrating the recent partnership of Vitra and the innovative design company Artek, the Vitra showroom will be highlighting their shared passion for design during the London Design Festival, showcasing the harmonious integration of these two iconic design houses and their product portfolios together in London for the first time. The Artek collection comprises of design, furniture and lighting by the Nordic masters Alvar Aaito, Ilmari Topiovaara, Tapio Wirkkala and Eero Aarnio, plus the latest additions to the portfolio designed by Yrjo Kukkapuro – all illustrated beautifully in an exciting illustration that perfectly unites these two iconic brands. United by design.

In addition to the above exhibition, Vitra will also be screening a series of Artek films on a loop:

Behind the scenes in the making of Yrjö Kukkapuro’s Karuselli Lounge Chair, designed in 1964 and re-launched by Artek in 2014.  Dur. 3:33 minutes

“ENZO MARI FOR ARTEK: HOMAGE TO AUTOPROGETTAZIONE” (2010)
A documentary film about Enzo Mari’s thought-provoking project.  Dur. 18 minutes
